Description
Octuple Self-Portrait is a twist on Norman Rockwell's Triple Self Portrait,
and was unveiled at The Carter Sexton Gallery on Laurel Canyon Boulevard,
on March 11th, 2017, on the opening night of the gallery's self-portrait exhibition.
It features Jonathan Morrill painting a painting of himself,
painting a painting of himself, reflected in a mirror, with references of himself,
which are reflected as well.
A total of eight images of the artist appear in the painting,
with inspirational references that include Sergeant Pepper's Lone;ly Hearts Cub Band,
Alfred E. Newman, Minya (the son of Godzilla), and tributes to Salvador Dali,
and the artist's daughter, Veronica Morrill.
